Calling all cave divers, base jumpers, free climbers, surfers, bungee jumpers, zorbers, parkour enthusiasts, skateboarders, kite boarders, free divers, wing-suiters, freefall specialists, wind riders, wake boarders, urban exploration experts, wind surfers, cavers, mountaineers and white water rafters.

Dr. K, author of "Hackers' Tales" is currently researching a new book called "Extreme Tales".

Just a few ideas based on the chapter outline. Feel free to comment and expand on these suggestions. You will have a better idea of what you want to talk about than I do.

1: Getting Started

How old where you when you realised that you were an extreme sports enthusiast?

Can you remember any incidents from your child hood that indicated you would be take up an extreme sport?

Were you involved in traditional sports in your childhood & teens?

Do you come from a family background where you were encouraged to take up an extreme sport e.g. because your parents or siblings were enthusiasts?

2: Getting Involved

What was the first extreme sport you ever tried?

How did you first begin?

After you realised that you were attracted to a sport, what did you do next?

Do carry on other extreme sports?

Which ones have you tried, what are your favourites and why?

3: Motivation & Philosophy

What motivates you to continue to do your chosen sport?

Do you have what could loosely be described as a "philosophy" based on your experiences?

Has being an extreme sports enthusiast changed your outlook on life in any way?

If your outlook on life has changed, has it changed for the better or for the worse?

4: Technology

How much do you rely on technology?

Have there been any improvements in technology that have changed the nature of your extreme sport?

Has new technology a positive effect on your extreme sport e.g. made it safer, faster better in any way?

Has new technology had a negative effect on your extreme sport?

What technologies do you think are exciting for the evolution of your chosen sport?

If someone could invent a piece of technology that changed you sport - what would you like it to be?

What do you think of technology anyhow? i.e. are you a gadget freak, web head and tech-lover or do you have trouble programming the video?

5: Social & Family Life

Do you engage in your sport in a large group, small group, pairs or solo?

Is there a "social scene" attached to your extreme sport?

How do you fit time to do extreme sports with your family or work life?

6: Travel

Do you have to travel far to be able to do your extreme sport?

Why? What is it you have to travel for? Why is it better there than closer to home?

What sort of places and countries do you go to?

Do you have any amusing tales to tell about travel to enjoy any extreme sport?

Extreme sports aside - do you just like to travel anyway?

If you do travel for your sport - what do you do on your holidays?

7: Accidents & Danger

Is your chosen sport particularly dangerous?

Are accidents a regular occurrence in your sport?

If so, what are the commonest types of accidents?

Have you ever had an accident while practising your extreme sport?

If so what happened? How severe was it? What happened afterwards?

Have you ever had any friends have an accident?

8: Near Death Experiences

Have you ever had a close call with death?

What happened? How did you escape? How did you feel afterwards?

Did it make you think about giving up your chosen sport?

Have friends or family attempted to curb your enthusiasm for your chosen sport because of the risks involved?

9: Quitting

Did you once enjoy doing an extreme sport but no longer do so?

What motivated you to quit?

Do you regret giving up your chosen sport?

Do you attend competitions as a spectator?

Do you attend competitions as a participant?
