Skaters Face £500 fines in Harlow
Back on the Skate vs NoSkate front - it appears that Harlow council are taking a tough line - but £500??? Most dangerous drivers dont get fined that much, shoplifters get less, and other anti-social behaviour results in nothing more than a warning - but get caught skateboarding and you really *are* as threat to society.

FINES of up to £500 could soon be imposed on anyone caught skateboarding in Harlow's town centre, shopping areas, garages or hatches.
The council has applied to create a byelaw to prevent people skating in the areas.
Community safety manager Paul Anderson believes the legislation could be in place as early as next spring.
He said: "At present we're still in the early stages but we're going down the legal route to create this by-law. Whether people are landed with these fines will depend to a large extend how strictly we police the law when it comes into force."
He warned skaters: "You can put anyone behind bars if they fail to pay a fine."
Skateboarding has been cited by authorities as a nuisance around the town causing damage, disruption and posing risks to health and safety.
