The comments from our guests have been unanimous - this is a high class Villa for the more discerning traveller in a great central, but quiet location, 200m from the sea and only 10 minutes stroll along the shores of the Mediterranean to the town of Moraira - a refined and dignified seaside town known as the "St. Tropez"of Spain.
Designed and built by famous local architect Eduardo Beltran, in an Ibizan/ Moroccan style, utilising flat roof terraces to give much more "living" space, this is a Villa straight from the pages of "House and Home" and similar glossy "Ideal Homes" type magazines. The Villa is wonderfully spacious, light and airy, with many lovely features, and has won critical architectural acclaim. The lovely furnishings, a mixture of antique and modern, beautifully complement the minimalist, rustic, yet ultra modern style of Villa Sol.
INSIDE
There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms, four en-suite. All bedrooms are double size and have excellent wardrobe space, air conditioning (hot and cold), central heating, excellent lighting and electric window blinds. The master bedroom has its own balcony and separate terrace with lovely sea views; flat screen LCD TV with DVD, and radio/CD player. The bathrooms are spacious having modern "state of the art" fittings, with large glass shower cubicles, bidets, and huge mirrors and washbasins that are inset into large marble work surfaces where the ladies can spread out masses of toiletries!! The master bathroom also has a bath as well as a large shower.
The large south facing lounge and dining room has partial sea views and benefits from two air conditioning units, two large sofas and further seating, an open fireplace, has large patio doors leading to the pool area, and is furnished with lovely antique furniture. For entertainment there is flat screen LCD TV (both Spanish, and Sky with the Sky Sports package; BBC and ITV etc); DVD with surround sound speakers; VHS video; Wi-Fi or hard wired broadband internet connection; a Wii with Wii sports and Wii board; and a "Klipsch" i-Pod dock.
The modern kitchen is fully fitted with Bosch appliances - dishwasher, washing machine, oven and ceramic hob, extractor, and has two sinks. For the information of returning guests the kitchen has been beautifully enlarged in 2009, with even more cupboard and worktop space as well as a large "American" style fridge/freezer with a cold water and ice dispenser (crushed or cubed), and another large Bosch fridge/freezer to give heaps of cold storage. There is a full complement of other equipment - juicers, blenders, coffee grinders, a "Nespresso" coffee machine, etc. The kitchen extension also features antique stone walling, a breakfast table, and nice views over the front and rear gardens
OUTSIDE
Villa Sol is set in its own secure walled landscaped gardens with many exotic Mediterranean plants - olive, orange, lemon, pine, palm, fig and castor oil trees, many types of cactus, oleanders, and colourful Mediterranean bougenvilias. Dame de Noche and "angels trumpets" give night time scent. There is always a selection of fresh herbs in the garden for guests use when cooking or barbecuing. For security the house is accessed via an intercom entry phone system, and there are automatic opening driveway doors which access the garage and driveway with parking for several cars. There is additional well shaded private car parking under a carport at the front of the Villa. For extra peace of mind, the villa enjoys a sophisticated burglar alarm system linked to police response.
The large swimming pool terrace features an unusual shaped pool with easy-entry "Roman" type steps, and a partially submerged "gin and tonic" shelf. The pool is at the same level as the main house - this is a flat plot with no climbing or un-necessary steps to all the main facilities, therefore it is ideal for the elderly or infirm. An exterior shower is of course available.
The pool terrace also has an exterior kitchen, with built-in gas barbecue, sink with hot and cold water, and plenty of work surface.
There are additional sun terraces within the house, including the terrace outside the master bedroom and a large rooftop solarium with sunbeds and with lovely views over Moraira above the pine trees, ideal for watching the sun rise or go down. From all terraces there are sea views just 200m away.
At the rear of the house is a shaded landscaped garden which overlooks a pine wooded area outside the house. A substantial pergola is located in the back garden, providing shade and quiet. It has built-in seating, an antique wooden bed/lounger, an exotic planting scheme with scented plants, and has lovely lighting at night time.
Most of the outdoor living is done in the naya (exterior shaded room) at the front of the house, see picture opposite. This has an outdoor sofa and two armchairs around a coffee table, and an exterior dining table for 10 people. It fronts directly onto the pool terrace.
The exterior lighting is wonderful at night, offering numerous lighting effects around the pool and gardens.
LOCATION WITHIN MORAIRA
The location of Villa Sol in relation to all the facilities you need on holiday is absolutely first class, and all guests enthuse about it's excellent, quiet, yet convenient location. It is less than 200m to the sea, and about 300m to the nearest beach. The main beach in town, Ampolla Beach, is a further 200m, and beyond that it is but a short walk into Moraira itself (a 10 minute flat walk alongside the Mediterranean from the Villa to the centre of Moraira). NOTE there are three EEC Blue Flag beaches in Moraira. Also within 400m of the Villa are 9 restaurants covering all tastes and budgets.
Still within a few hundred metres there are a selection of bars (including two English Sports Bars), a pharmacy, a gym, and a newsagents, amongst other shops. Walk away from town and within 600 metres of the Villa is the Algas Bar, a Moraira institution in a stunning sea front location, and several recently opened (2007) quality bars and restaurants including the "Cafe del Mar", a classic Ibiza chill-out bar and restaurant.
NOTE - None of the bars restaurants or shops impinge upon the privacy of the Villa, which is set in a quiet wooded area.

Note there is only limited availability so early booking is essential. Prices include all bedlinen, towels for bathrooms and poolside, a change of towels and bedlinen for 2 week bookings, welcome pack, initial and final cleaning, snacks and drinks on arrival. A £200 breakages deposit is payable on arrival, refundable at the end of the stay. 20% is payable on booking and the balance 6 weeks before arrival
